i’m back

June 28th, 2007 by Mr. Amazing

Driver’s Ed ended on Tuesday. We took a one-hundred question test to get out of the class. I scored highly with a 91%. I got my parent permits Tuesday afternoon and, after I drive twice more, I’ll get my temps. I’m pretty excited and I love to drive. I ask to drive whenever we go anywhere. It would be neat if we ever take another trip and I get to drive. I’d love that! I can’t wait until I get my license.

I am finally, for the most part, ungrounded. Ashley and I have done a little bit of hanging out, finally. We’ve got back to swimming, playing the Wii, and EATING! Haha, yep, that’s us, fatties.

We took a little break off of fund raising, but we both agreed to get back to it Friday. We sat down the other night and brainstormed a list of neighborhoods that we have not yet gone through. The list ended up with 25 subdivisions and groups of streets that we plan to complete. Hopefully, by the end of our list, we fund raise a fat chunk of our trip.

Ashley and I got Pizza Hut for free Tuesday, and then decided to go back for the buffet yesterday. How was it free? Well, we got there, and we were seated right away. Our waitress brought our drinks out in under two minutes and asked if we were ready to order. We had barely even opened the menu yet, so we asked her for a few more minutes to think it over. It didn’t take long for us to figure out what our bellies wanted. A medium hand-tossed pizza with extra cheese, bacon, and Italian sausage. Five minutes passed. Ten minutes. At twenty minutes Ashley and I were getting frustrated. We kept turning around and looking for our waitress. There she was, just standing at the counter. Now I could understand if something was going on. Like, if she was with a customer the whole time, if there was a fire in the kitchen, something like that. But no, she was just standing there. What the heck?

Finally, thirty-three minutes later she came over to our booth. Repeatedly apologizing, she took our order. She came back a minute later telling us the drinks were on her. So Ash ordered a coke and the waitress went and got it. A bit later, our pizza came out. There it was, thin crust with extra cheese, bacon, and Italian sausage. Wait a minute.. We ordered hand-tossed crust. So we called over our waitress, told her about the issue and she claimed it was hand-tossed crust. Well, the people in the booth on the other side of us had a pizza with a nice puffy crust. I politely asked them what kind of crust they had ordered, and they told us that it was hand-tossed.

That was the last straw.

Ashley, knowing that my ma knows how and when to complain, told me I should call my mom and ask for advice.

So, I did.

I explained the whole situation to her, letting her know the amount of time it took for our waitress to return, how the order came out wrong, and how the waitress had bluntly lied to us. My mom told me that when I took the bill up to pay it that I should ask for the manager and tell them what happened and let them know that I think the bill should be covered by them.

So, I did.

The manager covered the bill, and Ash and I walked out smoothly. Free dinner, baby, nothin’ better. :D

I am supposedly an “abusive boyfriend” due to what a neighbor saw from five or six doors down. Whatever. What REALLY happened was all just fun and games.

Ashley and I went outside yesterday to find something to do. When we walked out of the garage we saw Alli, my little neighbor. She can be REALLY annoying, so Ashley screamed “RUN!”.

So, we ran.

We kept on running, past five or six houses, when Ashley decided to stop. As she stopped, she turned around laughing. I was still running, and I ran into her. Because of my fatness, and the speed (slow, obviously, lol) I was running, Ashley bounced backwards. Stephanie, the lady who lives two doors down from me on the opposite side that Ash and I were running, marched down to us. Even though Ashley and I were laughing, and hugged, Stephanie claimed that we were arguing. She told us that it was normal to argue, but I didn’t have the right, or need, to shove Ashley. But I didn’t. So we stood there for five minutes, telling her that we weren’t arguing and that I never shoved Ashley. She repeatedly said she just knew we were arguing, so we just gave in, said sorry, and walked away. Whatever, she can think what she wants. As long as I know the truth, I’m OK with it.

Today I drove down in Toledo. I got to work on lane changes and double left turns. It wasn’t bad. My driving is getting much much better. It feels really natural and I enjoy the feeling I get behind the wheel.

After I drove, I came home for about a half hour and then headed over to Ashley’s. From there, we walked down to Blaze, ordered a couple of appetizers, ate them (obviously), and came over to my house. Ashley wrote me a story on my tummy, and then we cuddled for a bit while watching MTV. After about an hour of that, we went outside and tossed a football back and forth. Once that got boring, we sat and talked until her parents came and picked her up.

Josh is being really cool right now, so he’s sitting in my room on his laptop, and we’re about to play some PS2. Tomorrow we’re both heading over to Ashley’s house. He’s going to play with Austin, and Ashley and I are going to hangout. We’ll all end up swimming and maybe even playing a little Wii. He’s really excited about getting to know Austin. They act well together, so I think this friendship is one that will last. :)

scrub, scrub, scrub

Ash came over at 9 this morning. :) It was a nice awakening. We went and layed on the hammock for twenty minutes while I tried to wake up. After a bit, we went inside and made Paninis. At about ten, we went to the store to get car soap, and headed over to Bleu Moon to wash some cars. We came over to Ashley’s house at about 11:45 to eat some lunch. We’re about to head back there, I just thought I’d update. :)

it’s about time

June 22nd, 2007 by Mr. Amazing

Ashley and I finally got to hangout today. :D

The day started off normal. We picked up Ash at about 7:45 for driver’s ed, got dropped off, and sat through a boring day which consisted of two videos and a test. Afterwards, we stayed after for about 20 minutes to practice parking skills. Ashley’s ma said that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring Angela over and re-teach her the little tips and tricks that Mr. Hubbard had taught us which made parking a lot easier. So we left the parking lot and headed to Ashley’s house to pick up Angela.

Angela didn’t want anything to do with us. She didn’t want to slow down, she wanted to do everything in hyper-speed, and that’s no way to drive. Let’s start from the beginning:

First off, there is the forward stop. From a complete stop, you have to roll your car up about 20 feet and stop with your front bumper in a two foot zone. This isn’t hard at all. All you have to do is shift the car into drive, let it roll, and hit the brakes when your shoulder is lined up with a white line that is on the pavement for phys. ed. Well, Angela didn’t want to “cheat” as she called it. She kept stopping when the line was lined up with the steering wheel rather than her shoulder. This caused the front bumper to stop short of the two foot zone. After about six or seven tries, Mrs. J told her to back up, take her time, and do it right. Angela, as frustrated as could be, mumbled some mean words and backed up. She tried it once more, but yet again fell short. Her mom asked her if she wanted to do it again and Angela blurted out, “Wow Mom! I can do this like a piece of cake!” Austin replied “Yeah, like a piece of broken cake!” Angela became aggravated and just gave up on the forward stop.

Next, there’s the back in. From the forward stop, you’re supposed to back up about ten feet, until your shoulder is lined up with a blue line on the pavement, and come to a complete stop. Then you cut the wheel hard left, reverse until the car is perpendicular to the back line of the spot, and once again, come to a complete stop. Then you just straighten up the wheel and back up until your shoulder is in line with a cone. Angela must not have heard the word complete. She wouldn’t fully stop, and just cut the wheel, which caused her to overshoot her target. I’m not sure how, but she got it to work the third or fourth time, even though the whole time she looked unsure of herself and as if she was about to cry.

Here it was. The hardest parking maneuver of all time. *drum roll* The parallel park! I’m sorry, but I’m not going to explain this one. First of all, it would take too long. Second of all, it would require me to use my brain and think of all the steps again, and I’m not into that right now, I’m looking forward to being in bed, so you’re lucky I’m still here. ;) Anyways, after having to readjust her car about ten times, when Angela actually started to actual parallel park she did quite well. So well that she did it, perfectly, her first time. Yes, you read that correctly. Perfect her FIRST TRY. I was amazed. I started laughing. I couldn’t believe it.

Anyways, after Angela, Ashley tried a few times. Ash did everything perfectly, except for parallel parking. She was a little bit too far out of the space. She was still sticking out in the road. After Ash, I gave it a shot. I did perfecto mundo on my first try. :)

Afterwards, I got dropped off at home. I layed out for about a half hour, and then took a shower. Once I got re-dressed, I made the kids lunch. After lunch I got Justine in bed for a nap. Turns out I was the one who took the nap while she got up and watched Disney. Oh well, I was in need of sleep anyways.

Around 7:05 we went to pick up Ash. We had the intentions of walking around my neighborhood and the surrounding streets, but Ashley forgot the Marco’s cards. Oops. My ma headed straight for the nail place and to get her hair chopped, so she couldn’t go pick them up. We decided to call and leave a message at Ashley’s house so that when her parents returned from putt-putt they could bring them to us. Well, I guess that ‘didn’t fit into their schedule’, so we ended up just hanging out here like the good ol’ days. We watched The Adventures of Milo and Otis, ate corn dogs, and star gazed. Tonight was definitely perfect. It felt good to not feel grounded anymore. If that made any sense?

Tomorrow I’m heading over to the Soiree Car Wash at Bleu Moon again. It starts at 10a so I better hit the hay.

G’night.

darn traffic

June 20th, 2007 by Mr. Amazing

Wow, so I wrote this whole post, about 8 paragraphs or so long, and then clicked ‘publish’ but it never showed up. :(

Oh well, here we go again.

Today, like any other weekday, started out with driver’s ed. Today was a boring day though, thank the Lord. We started out with a movie, and ended up with Mr. Hubbard telling us a bunch of stories about drunk drivers. It wasn’t too bad, class went by fast. Oh, and tomorrow is my first day driving with Mr. Hubbard. :) I can’t wait to get behind the wheel with him. I want my parent permit. :) I get it after two times with the instructor, so I’ll have it by next week hopefully. :)

After driver’s ed, Ashley’s ma picked us up. Instead of driving straight home, Mrs. J let Ashley drive around the Junior High and High School parking lot for about a half hour. After a few laughs, Mrs. J dropped me off at home. I walked in the house, set down my stuff, let the dogs out, and slept the day away.

Around 4:30 my dad got home and woke me up. He told me to get ready because we were heading out to Dundee to my grandma’s house to pick up my brother and sister. We got out there, and stood around to chat for about ten minutes. Once we left, we headed over to the mall that my mom works at because she was about to start her dinner break.

We got to the mall fine, but we didn’t really know where my mom’s store is located. My dad took a guess, and luckily, he guessed right on. We parked at the correct entrance, walked in, and saw my mom with a customer. We waited for her, and once she was done, we headed to the play area while she got herself a salad from Arby’s. We stood around and talked a bit while she ate her salad, and afterwards we walked back to her store with her. She went back to work and we left, not expecting what the future had in store for us.

We pulled onto the expressway, and not two minutes later we were in standstill traffic. Five minutes into the traffic, the low-fuel light came on. My dad wasn’t too happy about that, and it didn’t help that Justine and Josh were being loud and annoying. He thought it would help the problem by screaming at them, which didn’t work at all. No matter what he did or said they just kept being obnoxious. Whatever, kids will be kids.

We pulled off at the first exit we came to, and expected to go to the gas station on the other side of the expressway. Well, that didn’t happen. There was a patrol car blocking the overpass. This didn’t help my dad’s mood, it made it worse. He began cussing like a sailor and Justine and Josh still kept on being loud and annoying. My head began to hurt and I began searching for the Advil. Too bad he didn’t have any.
We drove four miles down the road and pulled into a gas station. The gas prices were low, which eased my dad’s mood a bit. BUT, he didn’t want to go into the gas station to be charged to use the ATM, so he pulled out and drove a few more miles down the road. We pulled up to a BP, and pulled in. The gas was 20 cents more, which made my dad mad. He got gas anyways, and we started on our way back home. It was about time.

BUT, we didn’t take the expressway back. We took back roads. The whole way home I fell in and out of sleep. Oddly though, at about Ida, I became really awake. Maybe it was the rank odor of skunk that filled the air.
I was hoping to be dropped off at Ashley’s, but a glance at the clock assured me that it was too late. We were supposed to be home around 6:30, but it was about 8. :/ Bummer. We were supposed to walk around Captiva, but that wasn’t happening. And tomorrow we won’t be able to go around either because I have to babysit until 5:30, and then at 6:45 I have a dermatologist appointment. LAME! But tomorrow I’ll get to see her extra long at driver’s ed, because we are both driving tomorrow. Saturday will be another day I get to see her, because we have another car wash at Bleu Moon for Soiree. And, maybe, if I’m lucky, I’ll get ungrounded and actually be able to hangout with Ashley afterwards. Maybe not. We’ll see.

Speaking of being grounded, I finished my essay. But my teacher hasn’t emailed me back, so it’s pretty much pointless so far. Well, eh, I guess it’s not TOTALLY pointless. It did make me realize why High School is so important, but it hasn’t helped the fact of me being grounded yet. We’ll see if my teacher emails me back anytime soon. Hopefully not. :) Because then I won’t have to worry about her grading it.

Let’s Pray. ;)

we’re getting there

June 19th, 2007 by Mr. Amazing

Slowly but surely. Ash and I raised another $106 today, bringing our total up to $500. That’s $250 apiece in four days. :) If we keep going out every night, I am sure Ash and I could raise at least a fourth, or maybe even half, of this trip. We just can’t give up. We can’t let our sore feet get to us and we can’t succumb to the heat and we should be fine. :)

scarred

June 18th, 2007 by Mr. Amazing

As I keep watching Scarred on MTV, I am constantly reminded why being fat isn’t such a bad thing sometimes. :)

I feel sorry for all these kids (and adults) that tear up their bodies. I mean, yeah, it would be amazing to have a talent such as BMXing, snowboarding, or something like that, but seeing all of these wrecks makes me happy that I’m too fat and too lazy to get off of my big butt and “throw down” some tricks like those guys.

Props to them, but it’s not for me. :)

just a friendly game

June 16th, 2007 by Mr. Amazing

This morning from 10a until 2p, Soiree had a car wash at Bleu Moon to raise money for our trip next year. We raised a solid $242, and Ash and I came out with $30.20 a piece. :)

Being kids, while we were washing cars, every now and then we would spray each other. Well, there is a kid in Soiree that many find annoying (no names). He thought it would be fun to spray Katie, so he did. She asked him to “please stop,” but he kept squirting her. Katie got a little ticked, and was not very happy with ‘him’. ‘He’ said “Aw, come on, it is just a friendly game of squirt.” Katie couldn’t hold it in, she busted into laughter.

A bit later, when ‘he’ was gone, I squirted Katie, and was sure to let her know it was only a friendly game squirt. Katie laughed, and we proceeded to soak each other.
Sure, it isn’t right to make fun of someone behind their back, but it can be fun. :)

grounded

June 15th, 2007 by Mr. Amazing

I got a D in Hon. English and Ma wasn’t too pleased. I’m grounded all weekend and I have to write a 500 word essay on why it is important to “do good in high school.” Looks like Mom should go back to English class, correct grammar would be, “why it is important to do well in high school.” :) Nice try mom!

long time, no see

June 15th, 2007 by Mr. Amazing

So, I am going to give this thing a try. I got a little wrapped up in my Xanga, but more and more Xanga limits the things I can do with my blog. So here it goes, my own domain. My website, no one else’s.

my first

Hey, it’s Jeremy, yes, Mr. Amazing. I’m still trying to figure all this stuff out, but so far having my own domain is pretty killer. [:
